'Malcolm & Melvin' and 'Babe He calls Me' were 2 shorts Bakshi did for Hannah Barbera. There were 5 that were being planned - but by after the second when Bakshi was being dictated to on where he should go with his shorts - he dropped it and said it's either gonna be his creation or they could do their own.
So here we have 2 which in my opinion are amazing. Not to mention the way it was done - which was via a lot of fed ex - everyone working at home - and a lot of coffee shop meetings in NYC with the artists. 1 recording, 1 BG Artist, 1 Animator, 1 editor, 1 composer.
Bakshi pulled it together so beautifully I've never seen anything like it before! Not to mention my first project working with "Dad." I would do it again anyday...
