BSA UPDATE and SCHEDULE

We are glad to report that we have moved way into the coloring of Jack Attack and onto several cool new student projects for the Winter session. Details soon and some stills along with an updated class and event chedule for the remainder of the Winter session. Thanks for checking in...

THE BAKSHI SCHOOL OF ANIMATION and CARTOONING
WINTER CLASS SCHEDULE

Winter session: January 1st through March 31st


Thursdays 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Children’s Art and Beginning Animation
A multi-faceted class for kids that includes collage, drawing, painting, storywriting and an introduction to the art of animation.

Sundays 11-1:30
Advanced Junior Animation
A class for children or young adults with some experience or background in either art or animation. Students will take a project from the idea phase through the various stages of animation and assemble their work into a finished cartoon using computer technology and professional equipment.

Thursday Evenings 6:30-8:30
Animation Studio for Adults
A studio class for people who wish to do an animated project and learn technique used in Bakshi productions. Instruction will include several informational sessions as well as studio time and project feedback from Ralph Bakshi at some point during the class run.

Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon STARTING FEB. 25
Comic Art, Cartooning, and How to Earn a Living in Art and Get Jobs in the Business
with Ralph Bakshi
Comic books: drawing, inking, page layout and construction, and story. The art of the comic strip: dailies, political cartoons and cartoon illustrations for stories. Course will include work with figure drawing and anatomy, an examination and discussion of work by successful cartoonists and lectures by people in the business.

FRIDAY NIGHT LECTURE SERIES
Kicks off WITH RALPH BAKSHI

at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 24 and March 10
Brief talks on the elements of the animation process and the art of comic art and cartooning with director Ralph Bakshi. Topics will vary with a specific focus for each lecture and a Q and A time at the end.

BSA Desert Exposure Article

...This article ran in the local independent art paper and gives some information about what's currently happening in the School. Take a look and I will post the revised class and event schedule soon, a couple of things have changed since the publication date.
