Miss Mindy was sown and grown in Eagle Rock , CA. She is believed to be an elf or witch by most of the neighborhood children, due to her fondness of cooking spells & toy making. Her works consist mainly of woodcut paintings, shadow boxes, and fluid ink drawings and sketches. Mindy has an extreme affinity for past times, and loves to explore mood, expressions and bizarre humor.

Born into a family of artists and designers, she couldn’t escape creating art. If ever a word was uttered such as, “I’m bored” or “There’s nothing to do here” her Madre would retaliate, “You can always clean your room or do the dishes, honey.” So she realized at a very young age, to look as busy as possible and create stuff all the time, therefore avoiding a small percentage of house work (plus I just loved to draw & paint). Her grandmother worked as an ink and painter at Disney in the 1930’s, her grandfather was an illustrator, muralist, puppeteer, and didn’t have a bellybutton. Her Mother , is an accomplished mask maker and artisan, And her pops…. a mad scientist in the realm of electricity and combustion engines. She closely woks with her sister CJ Metzger on collaborative projects and art shows, and both have learned not to kill each other, because it makes it really hard to put on a show when ones’ sister isn’t alive.

Miss Mindy has written and illustrated two books with Baby Tattoo Books Publishing, “Artist Sisters: Box of Stories” & “ Miss Mindy’s Sassy Paper Doll Bonanza” debuting this year at wonder-con SF & comic-con in San Diego. She currently has a vinyl toy named “DINK” out in the Designer toy realm via Mindstyle toys, and another solo & collaborative toy line in the works. In Animation land, she has contributed to “El Tigre” and “The Mighty B!” at Nickelodeon Animation.
